an update after my three-week long holiday

I came to work today and as I had anticipated, some folks noticed something new on me. Except of course for my red sunburnt skin as evidence of too much fun under the sun during my vacation. ;P

So as to clear the major misconception, I just want to inform you guys that, no, it's not what you think. I am NOT married. NOT JUST YET. But rather, I am
Engaged To Be Married. Yep. ms.teacup is now officially committed. The small band around my ring finger is how it is from his country. Though most may not notice the tiny brilliant cut diamond in it without taking a closer look. I know. It's so different from what other engaged girls get in most, if not all, parts of the world.

For more info, you can check out these sites. Just a little trivia:

http://www.bridediva.com/2007/10/08/the-ring-series-engagement-customs/

"Traditional German couples prefer to exchange simple gold rings on the day of their engagement. These rings will be worn on their left hands until the day of the wedding. During the marriage ceremony, they are moved from the left to the right, and become the actual wedding bands."

"Diamonds may be a girl's best friend in the States, but a traditional Germans couple will prefer to exchange simple gold rings on the day of their engagement. These rings will be worn on their left hands until the day of the wedding. During the marriage ceremony, they are moved from the left to the right, and become the actual wedding bands (Trauringe). Yes, you read correctly, in Germany the wedding ring is worn on the right hand!"

There you go. Hope this clears things now. When wedding bells do come ringing soon, be sure that I will let you know.
