Chapter 3: The TERMINAL
The hardest thing about hello is goodbye. She knows this very well.
The one thing she hates so much during his visits to her is the part where she had to walk him to the terminal. It was always the same story. From the moment she hears his flight confirmation from the other end of the phone, time would always start to slow down. A day would seem like a week. An hour would seem like forever. It was like her whole universe would pass on a time warp. Yes, the agony of waiting for him never fails to kill her slowly. Yet when they are together, time would seem to move faster than the normal rate. A week would seem like a day. An hour would seem like a minute. Before they know it, it was time to part again. Everything would then seem like an interrupted dream that neither one would have wanted to wake up from.

She clearly recalls that one gloomy afternoon when she walked with him to the train station. He was scheduled to go back to his state. Unlike the other days, this time there was no guarantee of seeing each other again. Not only will time be diffident, so will a great deal of distance. The uncertainty of tomorrow concerned her. And for the first time in her life, she feared of being away from him. He gave her a long kiss, slowly got inside his train, and looked back at her for the last moment. Tears started falling from her eyes as she saw his train leaving. She stood motionless as the sound slowly echoed to silence. He gave her a promise. She chose to believe his words. Till then, hope was all she held unto.
Fast-forward.
It is the same feeling for her once again. Like rays of light, memories of their time spent together keep flashing in her head. It is never easy. Bittersweet. Every passing day is a theme of torment and of faith. But she still has hope. And love.

There will be no goodbyes, only see you soon. No letting go while she is breathing here.
